What Weekend Millionaires Is About
Russia returns the Romanian state treasury that had been left in Moscow years before. Among the crates that arrive is something not on the inventory: a porcelain bust signed in 1915 that the experts judge worthless. The bust is put away in a museum in Bucharest, but there are people who know what is inside it, and across one weekend three young men, a girl, a dog, thieves and the mob are all after the same bag. The film builds this as a fast, noisy comedy. Andi Vasluianu, Maria Dinulescu and Tudor Chirilă appear in Cătălin Saizescu’s ninety minute Romanian film; it was completed in 2004 and won its director a prize for a first feature.
