When I'm Young

Malena is seventy, cannot please anyone in her son's house, and a care home is being discussed. After a passport photograph at a small studio she finds herself twenty-two. She takes the name Maria, hides who she is and becomes the singer in her grandson's band, the one thing she had to give up when she was young. Raúl Martínez made it as the Mexican adaptation of the Korean Miss Granny, a story remade many times across Asia and Latin America. It proceeds as comedy and ends as the story not of youth but of what the mother gave up. Verónica Castro and Natasha Dupeyrón star. Eugenio Derbez is among the producers.
