Patrick Güldenberg What Wir sind die Neuen Is About
Anne, a biologist in her sixties, has to give up her flat in Munich and gets in touch with the people she shared a place with as a student, and the three of them move back in together. The three students upstairs are preparing for exams, and cheerful noisy neighbours are precisely what they do not need. Ralf Westhoff sets the communal ideals of the seventies against the career timetable of the present: tea and conversation on one side, time pressure on the other. His conclusion is plain, that progress requires the generations to talk.
