What Yaarana Is About
Bishan spends everything he has so that his friend Kishan can become a singer, and in the end he loses his own fortune doing it. Kishan rises, his name gets known, his concerts fill. One question is left: will the man do the same for the friend who put him there? The film uses the friendship mould that Indian cinema of the eighties loved, and it works the songs into the account, since half the story happens on a stage anyway. Amitabh Bachchan and Neetu Singh play the leads in Rakesh Kumar’s film, with Amjad Khan and Kader Khan also in the cast; it was completed in 1981.
