Yejaman

Vaanavaraayan leads a village. Everyone there is fond of him. On his advice the villagers do not vote in the elections. They pool the money the candidates hand out instead. With it they buy the village what it lacks. That arrangement earns him an enemy. Vallavaraayan is his chief rival. The rival strikes at his wife. She is poisoned, and the poison leaves her unable to have a child. On her deathbed she asks her husband for a promise. The promise is that he will marry another woman who is devoted to him. He is bound to keep it, and the account turns into a reckoning inside the village. Rajinikanth and Meena take the leads, with Napoleon as the rival, in the three hour film, an Indian production R.V. Udayakumar finished in 1993.
