What You, the Living Is About

Dozens of loosely connected short scenes, each in a single take, each in the same washed out green light, each containing somebody complaining about their life. If Roy Andersson's method is unfamiliar the first ten minutes will be startling: the camera never moves, the actors are made up into pallor, the humour is bone dry. The idea is in the title, that being alive is itself the grievance. Some scenes are funny and some are simply sad, with no transition offered between the two.
