What You're My Hero Is About
Ramon is thirteen, shy and awkward; his childhood was spent moving from town to town and he thinks life is a matter of winning or losing. Before long he learns that the point is not winning but staying alive. In those same years Spain is in a period of transition too; Franco is close to death and everything is about to change. The film puts the growing up of a boy and the transformation of a country in the same span of time and turns neither of them into a story of deliverance. Manuel Lozano plays the lead in Antonio Cuadri’s hundred and two minute Spanish film, completed in 2003.
