The 1960s. Walter, a bookkeeper, likes an orderly life with no surprises. When the small factory in Vigevano closes he finds himself at a modern company in Milan whose owner is mad about football and makes all his employees play weekly matches. Walter says he is a goalkeeper because it is the only position he knows. The training, the mockery and a matter of the heart that follow push him into practising in secret to prove himself. It is Neri Marcore's first film as director, adapted from Roberto Perrone's novel.
