What Zoran: My Nephew the Idiot Is About
Paolo is forty and lives in a small town in the north-east of Italy, close to the Slovenian border. He is a man nobody can rely on: he spends his days in the tavern, knows his wine, and refuses to leave his ex-wife alone. Then a distant relative dies and leaves him a nephew from Slovenia. Zoran is odd, quiet and clumsy, but the boy turns out to have one talent, and it is darts. Matteo Oleotto's first feature, with Giuseppe Battiston as Paolo. The bilingual, two-cultured condition of the border region feeds both the comedy and the sadness in it.
