Plot

Damascus in the late 1990s. Kareem and Nabila are raising five very different daughters - each with her own personality, ambitions and complications - alongside a scene-stealing aunt Jamila. Every episode centres on a family issue that brings everyone together to argue, laugh and muddle through. Warm, witty and deeply rooted in Syrian daily life, it remains one of the most beloved family comedies in Syrian television history. Stars Jamal Suleiman and Khaled Taja.

How the Pulse Score works

For series, Pulse starts from the IMDb rating shrunk by vote count, then applies FORMAT CALIBRATION. Series score systematically higher than films on IMDb, so using the raw number would unfairly push a show like The Four Seasons to the top of a film catalogue. Calibration maps the series distribution onto the film one; meaning 69 is COMPARABLE to a film with the same Pulse.

One more difference from films: Letterboxd does not track series, so series Pulse derives from a single source (IMDb) rather than two.
