Eva Green

Ginette Vincendeau grades three performers openly in The Dreamers and puts Eva Green at the bottom of the three: the range runs from adequate to very good, and the adequate one is Green. Roger Clarke reads her casting in Casino Royale as a signal of direction instead; the Paris-born Green brings a cold indolence to the part and is, by his account, nothing like the usual Bond girl. The César lead actress field of 2020 held seven names, and she was one of them, for Proxima. The award went to Anaïs Demoustier. Two of those seven came from a single film: Adèle Haenel and Noémie Merlant were listed in that same category for a film of Céline Sciamma's.
