Kodi Smit-McPhee plays Owen in Let Me In, and Kim Newman, in the BFI archive, notes that this name stands in place of the Oskar of the Swedish film. It says too that he and Chloë Grace Moretz are persuasive in their close and deliberately unresolved conversations, and uses John Hillcoat's The Road of 2009 to introduce him. Newman writes as well that the new film adds a sub-plot: the boy he plays does not want to go swimming at school, because he does not want to show his beaten back. By that piece the addition makes the child's decision to leave home with a creature less difficult. His name turns up on this one page of the archive and nowhere else.
