Harmony Korine

5 films

Xan Brooks describes the second film of Harmony Korine, who had made Gummo, as a work following its own tangled logic of plot and flowing to its own rhythm, and says it is in complete symbiosis with its lead character in that respect. Ryan Gilbey, condemning another film, makes Korine's work the point of comparison: that film, he writes, leaves you longing for the relatively compassionate films of Korine, which may well be a first. Independent Spirit lists him twice, both times as a nominee only: the first screenplay category in 1996 for Kids, the directing category in 2000 for Julien Donkey-Boy. Five works stand in his catalogue, two of those directed by him.
