Tim is sixteen and runs; he is gifted, but he has left the team. He lost his mother, and there is another matter at school: what is happening to his friend Francis. A group at the school, with Jeff at its head, works on one person systematically and the teachers do not see it. Tim decides to come back. His aim is a time over 800 metres and he starts training for it. But what he really wants is not to compete; he sees this as the only way to settle with Jeff. As the training goes on he begins saying whatever the cost. Yan England writes and directs. Antoine Olivier Pilon plays Tim; Sophie Nélisse and Lou-Pascal Tremblay are in the cast. It is a Canadian production, from Quebec. The title comes from a time, the mark aimed at over 800 metres. The matter it treats is bullying and the school's refusal to see it; the film does not soften the consequences. It uses the shape of the sports film deliberately and withholds the victory that shape promises. The doping strand opens in the second half and the character's decision is not given a justification. Its strongest side is Pilon's performance; the character is not shown as sympathetic. Its limit is the script; some supporting characters stay functional and the ending is written too plainly. Who it is for: viewers who like Quebec cinema and drama about the young. Who it is not for: the subject is heavy, the bullying scenes hard, and the film offers no hope.
