What 13 Tzameti Is About
A poor young man repairing a roof follows instructions from the post of a man he has just seen die, travels somewhere he does not know, and by the time he understands what it is there is no way back. Gela Babluani shoots in black and white and explains almost nothing, leaving the audience as uninformed as the protagonist for the first half hour. Once the main section begins the tension comes entirely from the rules, read out coldly. The violence is unshowy and unbearable for exactly that reason.
