What Money Is About
Three thieves break into a house, and what they see inside changes all three of their lives. Gela Babluani's 2017 film uses the robbery as a starting point; the real question is what each of them decides to do once they are back outside. It watches how ordinary people become somebody else after crossing a line. Giorgi Babluani, Vincent Rottiers and Benoit Magimel play it. Across ninety minutes the tension comes not from the event but from the uncertainty about what these people will do next, and our one line record deliberately withholds what they saw.
