2 Hearts

An American film set in two periods. The first line begins in the 1960s. Jorge is the son of a wealthy family who came from Cuba; he has a lung condition from birth and the doctors say he will not live long. On a flight he meets Leslie, a stewardess, and they marry. The second line is close to the present. Chris has just started university; he meets a classmate, Sam, and their relationship grows. Chris has a health problem of his own and his condition worsens. The film runs the two stories in parallel and no direct link appears between them. The link is made in the last section. The matter at the centre is a transplant, and two families being joined through it. The story is based on real events; the names and the outline of what happened are kept. Jacob Elordi, Tiera Skovbye, Adan Canto and Radha Mitchell are in the cast. Lance Hool directed. It got poor notices on release; several reviewers found the emotional dose too high. A suitable choice for anyone who likes emotional drama and films based on true stories. For a viewer expecting a measured register, the film plays openly on feeling in its last section.
