Your Eyes Tell

A young woman who lost her sight and her family in a crash meets a man with a dark past who trains in karate. He tries to keep away from her. The film reveals early that he is directly connected to her loss; the narrative gives the viewer that knowledge and hides it from her, and the tension comes from there. Takahiro Miki directed. It is the Japanese remake of the Korean film of the same title. The theme was written by a member of BTS, which largely shaped its international attention. Who it's for: those who like heavy melodrama. Who it's not for: viewers wanting restraint; the film keeps raising the emotional pitch and leans on coincidence.
