The film is about two women who share the same birthday and are both about to turn thirty, Christy Lam and Wong Tin-lok. One has advanced in her career and grown estranged from her own life; the other is living with illness and with less time. Without ever meeting, they come to know each other through the same flat and the same belongings, and turning thirty means something entirely different to each of them. Kearen Pang’s hundred and ten minute Hong Kong film was adapted from her own stage work, a one woman show she wrote and performed that became one of the most watched pieces in contemporary Hong Kong theatre. Chrissie Chau and Joyce Cheng star, and the film won the audience award at the Osaka Asian Film Festival.
