A man is diagnosed with a fatal illness and goes back over his life. The number in the title is the diagnostic code for one kind of cancer. He understands the illness as a punishment, as payment for the harsh things he did in the fifties. He tries to clear himself, but he runs into a wall. The name of that wall is indifference: the selfishness of individuals and of the society together. Nobody will take any part in his reckoning. In the end he has to make his own peace with the illness and with his past on his own. The work is adapted from a short story. Václav Lohniský and Lucyna Winnicka appear in Dušan Hanák’s ninety two minute Czechoslovak film, completed in 1970.
