33 Photos from the Ghetto

The documentary is about photographs taken inside the Warsaw Ghetto. They were taken in secret. Thirty three frames have survived. The negatives were kept for decades. The photographer’s family never brought them to light. A Jewish family also preserved these images. Eighty years later the photographer’s son finds the negatives. He starts an investigation. Researchers and archivists work with him. Each frame is examined one by one. The places where they were taken are worked out again. An effort is made to identify the people in them. Reconstruction work runs alongside the account. The film conveys the conditions of those days. Maciej Grzywaczewski and Romana Laks Kaplan appear in the documentary, a Polish production Jan Czarlewski finished in 2025.
