What 47 Talking Corpses Is About
A miserly baron refuses to hand over the chest of jewels his father left to the town. So the townspeople stage a trick: they convince him he has died, build him a fake afterlife, and try to persuade him there that he must say where the money is hidden in order to save his soul. The number in the title is not a joke: in the Neapolitan tradition of assigning numbers to dreams, forty-seven means the dead man who speaks. So the title states the plot directly. One of Toto's early comedies, and playing a miser pretending to be dead suits him.
