What 700 Days of Battle: Us vs. the Police Is About
A small Japanese town in 1979. When one of their group is caught speeding, the town’s troublemaking teenagers decide to play a prank on the local policeman. But this policeman is as childish and as inventive as they are; he retaliates, gets them suspended from school, and the thing quickly becomes a war neither side can drop. As the pranks grow, the whole town is drawn in. Renpei Tsukamoto’s film is adapted from a widely read series a real police officer published online. Hayato Ichihara, Kuranosuke Sasaki and Kumiko Aso are in the cast. As much as it is a nostalgic teen comedy, it is also a film about how boring it is to grow up in a small town.
