What A Cool Fish Is About
After a robbery goes wrong two hopeless thieves take refuge in the flat of a woman who is paralysed. She is not afraid of them; she already wants to die and thinks the men who broke in might be useful. Outside, her brother, a security guard who lost his standing, hopes that solving this will get him back into the police. Rao Xiaozhi crashes these three kinds of desperation together and keeps comedy and real pain in the same scene. The Chinese title means nobodies, which is the whole point. It became an unexpected hit in China, with Ren Suxi widely praised.
