A Decent Man

Thomas is a man who avoids conflict and all he wants is a quiet holiday in the Swiss Alps. Hoping to mend things with his family and to please his employer, he brings his boss’s daughter Sarah along. On the first evening the teenagers go to a party, and Sarah comes back in tears and says she was raped; the person she names is the son of an old friend, the man who rents them the chalet. What the film is really about starts there: will Thomas stay quiet as he always does, or risk his family and his job to do the right thing. Micha Lewinsky wrote and directed, with Devid Striesow in the lead. It premiered at the Zurich film festival in 2015 and won best screenplay at the Swiss Film Awards in 2016.
