What A Night in Nude Is About
Jiro runs a stand in service in Tokyo, offering to do anything a client needs done in their place. A woman who says she is from Fukuoka asks him to show her the city. What Jiro does not know is that she is not who she claims and is running from a yakuza boyfriend, and he walks straight into the middle of it. Takashi Ishii's 1993 film carries noir into the Japanese urban night: neon, rain and a trap closing by degrees. Naoto Takenaka leads and plays an ordinary man being backed into a corner with real restraint.
