A Woman's Decision

The main character is a bookkeeper of forty. She lives with her husband and a son of school age. Her life goes by quietly and dully. She sees that as the boy grows she will be needed less at home. Her relationship with her husband has begun to fall apart as well. Then an embezzlement comes to light at the office. She stands up to the management. At that moment she sees that life might offer something else. Afterwards she runs into a former classmate. Then she meets Jacek and begins to think about a new start. But in the end she returns to her old ways. Maja Komorowska and Piotr Fronczewski take the leads in Krzysztof Zanussi’s Polish film of 1975.
