What Aaromaley Is About
Ajith is a young man who imagines love the way films present it. Forced to take a job, he finds himself working at a matchmaking agency alongside Anjali. Anjali leaves no room for illusion and does her work like statistics: compatibility tables, family expectations, income brackets. Their conflict begins as an ordinary working relationship and turns into their own story. Sarang Thiagu's film uses the familiar shape of Tamil romantic comedy while taking on the institution of marriage itself. The agency scenes are the best passages, with the negotiations of class, caste and expectation that surface during matchmaking as the main source of humour. Kishen Das plays Ajith and Shivathmika plays Anjali. VTV Ganesh appears in support. Who it's for: Viewers who like Tamil romantic comedy, relationships built on opposing characters, and workplace narratives. Who it's not for: The structure is predictable and the second half moves to emotional resolution too early. The subplots also do not develop enough.
