What Accused Is About
Henrik and Nina Christoffersen look from outside like an ordinary, happy family. But their fourteen-year-old daughter Stine is difficult, and has a habit of lying at school. One day she says her father has sexually abused her. The social workers believe her at once. Henrik is arrested, the family comes apart, the neighbours turn away. The film gives the viewer no easy answer. And as Stine prepares to come home, the ugly side of the household comes out with her. Jacob Thuesen directs, with Troels Lyby as Henrik and Sofie Gråbøl as Nina. It runs a hundred and three minutes. Its strength is that it declines to prove anybody right.
