What Adventures Italian Style Is About
Autumn 1989, a few weeks before the Berlin Wall comes down. Three friends from Cesena, Pago, Rice and Bibi, decide on ten days of adventure: eastern Europe. They drive around countries where the regime is still standing. They take it at first for a holiday, more or less a lark, and the borders, the police checks and the people they meet turn it into something else. Antonio Pisu's film is a road movie and a coming-of-age story at once, telling the moment history turned through the eyes of three boys who have no idea it is happening.
