Ága

Nanook and Sedna live in a yurt on the snow fields of the far north, following the order their ancestors kept. From a distance they look like the last two people alive. But the order is breaking: hunting gets harder, animals die for no reason anyone can name, the ice goes earlier every year. Chena, who visits regularly, is their only link to the outside and to Aga, the daughter who left years ago after a rift. When Sedna's health fails, Nanook sets out to do what she asks. The Bulgarian director Milko Lazarov shot it in Yakutia, in the Sakha language. The characters' names are an open reference to Flaherty's Nanook of the North from 1922. It closed the Berlinale, and it is a film of very few words and very large landscapes.
