Akele Hum Akele Tum

Rohit and Kiran love each other and marry over her family's objections. They have a son, Sunil. The first years go well. Then Kiran starts singing, starts performing, and Rohit does not like it. The fights grow and she walks out. The boy stays with his father. For the first time Rohit learns to cook, to do the school run, to sit up through a fever. Once Kiran is famous she comes back and wants custody of Sunil, and it goes to court. Mansoor Khan directs; two hours and forty minutes, with Aamir Khan as Rohit and Manisha Koirala as Kiran. The story comes from Kramer vs. Kramer of 1979, which the credits do not acknowledge.
