What Alabama Moon Is About
Moon Blake is eleven, raised by his survivalist father in the Alabama woods and kept clear of the modern world, and when the man dies unexpectedly the boy is on his own. He knows the forest, the traps and how to feed himself; what he does not know is how to live among people, and that second test of survival is what the film is actually about. Watt Key co-wrote the screenplay from his own novel and Tim McCanlies directed, with John Goodman as Mr. Wellington.
