All My Loved Ones

The film is told through a man looking back on his childhood. The place is Prague, the time the first years of the Second World War. At the centre of the account is the Silberstein family, Jewish and Czech. As the Nazis grow stronger, the order of the family comes apart piece by piece. The work rests on real events and was made as a tribute to Nicholas Winton. Just before the war, Winton organised getting six hundred and sixty nine children out of Czechoslovakia; most of them were Jewish. That undertaking later became known as the Czech Kindertransport. The film keeps those who got out and those who did not in the same frame. Josef Abrhám and Libuše Šafránková appear in Matej Mináč’s ninety one minute film, a coproduction of four countries, completed in 1999.
