What All Together Is About
Five old friends in their seventies decide to move in together rather than go into a retirement home. An ethnology student writing his thesis on ageing moves in with them, an observer at first and a member of the household by the end. Stephane Robelin sets it up as a warm comedy about friendship but refuses to clear illness, failing memory and sex off the table, and never uses old age as charming decor. Alongside Guy Bedos, Pierre Richard, Geraldine Chaplin and Claude Rich, Jane Fonda plays the whole part in French. Daniel Bruhl is the student.
