American Moon

The documentary goes through the images and documents of the Apollo missions. It gathers in one place both the evidence that the landings were real and the claims put forward by those who argue otherwise. The Apollo photographs are examined in detail with the help of well known photographers. The question the work sets up is this: was it the greatest achievement in human history, or a staging. That question is the film’s own. The historical record is not in dispute: the Apollo landings happened and are documented. The film runs two hundred minutes and consists almost entirely of examining images. The account presents the conspiracy claims as claims rather than as fact. Massimo Mazzucco’s Italian documentary was completed in 2017.
