What Anji Is About
The Aatmalingam in the Himalayas carries a great sacred power. Once in seventy two years the water of the Akasa Ganga comes down from the sky and flows into it, and whoever drinks that holy water becomes immortal and gains extraordinary powers. The film builds an adventure around this belief and tells the journey of those who want to reach it. The account gives its fantastic elements through visual effects; in Telugu cinema of 2004 a production on this scale was rarely seen. What is held sacred is used as the engine of the story. Chiranjeevi and Namrata Shirodkar appear in Kodi Ramakrishna’s hundred and fifty minute Telugu film, completed in 2004.
