What Antes Que Eu Me Esqueça Is About
Polidoro is eighty, a retired judge. He decides to break up the order of a comfortable life by buying into a strip club. The decision produces alarm in the family, and his daughter Beatriz goes to court to have him declared incapable. Behind it is early stage Alzheimer's, which is where the title comes from: before I forget. Tiago Arakilian builds it as neither a tragedy nor a cheerful fable about old age but holds it somewhere between the two. José de Abreu plays Polidoro, with Danton Mello and Letícia Isnard as his children. Reviews divided: the performances were praised, the looseness of the storytelling was not.
