What Applause Is About
Thea Barfoed is an actress the critics have admired. During her heavy drinking she was divorced and lost custody of her two sons. The film starts in the days after she comes out of treatment. What Thea wants now is to have her children back in her life. To manage that she has to face both her former husband and her own past. The account sets her work as an actress beside her daily life. The film does not choose between taking her side and blaming her. Paprika Steen plays Thea, with Michael Falch also in the cast, in Martin Zandvliet’s eighty five minute Danish film, completed in 2009.
