What My Father's Wings Is About
İbrahim has worked on building sites for thirty years. Right now he is on a luxury housing site in Istanbul. Tests come back showing lung cancer. He wants to retire on disability. But he has not paid in enough days. Nor does he have the money to make up the missing ones. Since the earthquake his family has been living in a container. They are waiting to move into the housing the state has built. The instalments will stretch over long years. Even so he is glad they will own a home. A young worker on the site falls from a height and dies. Money is given to his family so they will not go to court. İbrahim hears about it. The compensation his own death would bring comes into his mind. Menderes Samancılar and Musab Ekici take the leads in Kıvanç Sezer’s Turkish film of 2016.
