The film is set in Paris in 1950. At the centre of the account are five young people. All of them are adolescents. The mood of the time is heavy. The young people believe another war is coming. They think that war will finish everything. So they make a plan. They will run away to a distant island. There they will set up an order of their own. But there is no money for the plan. So they work out a robbery. They count the robbery as a necessary step. The job does not go as planned. Their ideals fall apart on contact with reality. All five have to live with what they did.
