Bhale Bhale Magadivoy

Maruthi Dasari's 2015 Telugu film follows Lucky, a botanist with a serious problem with forgetting. He falls in love with Nandana but cannot tell either her or her father about his condition, and the whole film is built on hiding that information. The comedy comes from Lucky's efforts to cover what he has forgotten. He forgets his keys, a name, a promise, and each time has to invent a more complicated explanation. Nani plays the fluster without overdoing it. What stands out is that the film presents the condition not as an inadequacy but as something that becomes a problem because it is hidden. The resolution is not treatment but disclosure. A finish this calm is uncommon in Telugu romantic comedy. Who it's for: those who like light Telugu romantic comedy. Who it's not for: viewers expecting persistent cognitive conditions handled realistically; the film uses the condition as comic material.
