Lily keeps trying to repair the bond with her father, who rejects her again and again and then disappears entirely. She searches his name, Bob Trevino, online and finds another man with the same one. They start talking. This Bob has a loss of his own, and two strangers rebuild what a family relationship is supposed to be without owing it to anyone. Tracie Laymon wrote it from her own life; she never met that man in reality, and the film came out of the question of what it would have been like if she had. Barbie Ferreira and John Leguizamo star. It took both the jury and the audience award at SXSW. It aims at feeling without diluting the loneliness of its characters.
