BraveStarr: The Legend

On a planet called New Texas a valuable mineral named Kerium is found, and the planet fills quickly with miners, smugglers and criminals. Marshal BraveStarr is sent to bring order. With him are Thirty-Thirty, his talking cybernetic horse, his deputy Fuzz, and the Shaman who guides him. Against him stand Tex Hex and the gang called the Carrion Bunch. The film is the cinema extension of the television series of the same name and tells how the characters came to be as they are: where BraveStarr's powers came from, how Tex Hex became what he is, and how the two of them met in the past. The mould is the space western, one of the genres attempted in American animation in the eighties. It is among the last works of the producing studio Filmation, which closed shortly afterwards. The story is for children but its tone, unlike the series, is markedly dark.
