Four musicians abducted from a planet in space are given new identities on Earth and put on stage as a pop group. Someone sets out to rescue them. There is not a single line of dialogue. The narrative runs entirely through the order of the songs on a Daft Punk album, each track corresponding to a section; the music here is not a score but the script itself. Kazuhisa Takenouchi directed, with visual design by Leiji Matsumoto, produced at Japanese studios. Who it's for: those who like Daft Punk and the anime drawing style of the nineteen-seventies. Who it's not for: viewers wanting dialogue and character; this is an album rendered visually.
