Candelaria

Havana, 1995, in the hardest years of the embargo. Candelaria and Victor Hugo, a hundred and fifty years old between them, have lived in the same flat out of habit for a very long time. One day they find a video camera in a basket of dirty laundry, and when they switch it on something comes back that had been gone for years. Jhonny Hendrix Hinestroza films old age without pity and sex without embarrassment: two people in a city that has run out of everything noticing each other again. It played in Giornate degli Autori at Venice in 2017 and took the Fedeora prize for best film along with the directors' award. Verónica Lynn and Alden Knight play the couple.
