Cape of Good Hope

The story knots together at an animal shelter in Cape Town. Kate runs the shelter. She gets on with animals better than with people. She is involved with a married man. The man who actually loves her she does not see. Sharifa works at the front desk. She is a Muslim woman. She badly wants a child. That wish puts a strain on her marriage. Jean Claude, who keeps the grounds, came from the Congo. He left the fighting there behind him. He holds a doctorate in astronomy. He is thinking about going to Canada. In the meantime he falls in love with Lindiwe. Lindiwe is raising a child on her own. The film takes the friction of class, race and faith and tells it as comedy. Quanita Adams and David Isaacs appear in the hundred and seven minute film, a South African production Mark Bamford finished in 2004.
