Muriel has been bedridden since an accident: angry, and not about to be handled. Leo is a middle-aged ex-boxer who has gone under with drink, is qualified for nothing, and answers an advertisement for a carer out of desperation. Muriel hires him against her own better judgement. Useless at first, Leo slowly earns her trust. She teaches him to read, and he pushes her to look at what is outside the window. Alain Monne's film is set and was shot in Cartagena, in Colombia, with Sophie Marceau as Muriel and Christopher Lambert as Leo. It builds the relationship between carer and cared-for without asking for pity, and leaves both of them their stubbornness.
