What Cattle Drive Is About

The spoilt son of a wealthy railroad owner gets off a train, wanders off and is left alone in the middle of nowhere. A cowboy driving a herd of cattle to San Diego finds him and takes him along. On the way the boy has for the first time to do his own work, wait his turn and be part of a crew; the orders he is used to giving are of no use here. The cowboy treats him neither as a pupil nor as a son, but simply makes him do what the job requires. Joel McCrea and Dean Stockwell appear in Kurt Neumann’s seventy seven minute American western, shot in the desert with real herds. It was completed in 1951.
