What Chained Is About
Rashi is an experienced and respected police officer; his work keeps him inside violence and he carries the same hardness home. Caught between his wife Avigail, who is undergoing fertility treatment, and his stepdaughter Yasmine, he is suspended and put under investigation when two young men suspected of dealing drugs accuse him of sexual harassment. As he loses the uniform, his authority at home comes apart too. Yaron Shani’s hundred and twelve minute Israeli film is the second part of his love trilogy, with Eran Naim as Rashi and Stav Almagor as Avigail. It had its world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival, and Shani won the Ophir award for best director for it.
